As an intransitive verb, it means “to agree to a request, an idea or a suggestion” assent作不及物動詞，意為”同意，贊成，認可”
1. Nobody would assent to the terms they proposed.
誰也不會同意他們所提出的條件。
2. I can never assent to such a request.
我決不會同意這種要求。
3. The teacher will never assent to our playing football in the street.
教師決不會同意我們在街上踢足球。
Accent
a way of pronouncing the words of a language that shows which country, area or social class a person comes from 口音，腔調(diào)
1. She speaks English with a Chinese accent.
她說英語帶有漢語口音。
2. She tried to reproduce his accent.
她試圖模仿他的口音。
3. He has a strong American accent.
他有很重的美國口音。

assent可以用作名詞，也可用作動詞，意為”同意，贊成”。常與介詞to搭配使用。
